The first INCITE workshop took place 23-25 November 2016 at the EnergyVille (Genk, Belgium) and was hosted by VITO.
The workshop, for project members only, served as presentation of the Early Stage Researchers (ESRs), who presented their Individual Research Projects (IRPs) and initial progress. After each presentation, the fellows received feedback from their peers in order to enhance the quality and scope of the different IRPs, and to enhance collaboration and networking.
Prof. Ronnie Belmans (KU Leuven, CEO of EnergyVille) and Prof. Damien Ernst (Université de Liège) contributed to the scientific training of the ESRs with tutorials focused on “Smart grids an energy markets” and “Managing distribution networks considering the increase of renewable energy sources, evolution of consumption patterns and other relevant network effects”, respectively.
ESRs also received training in Project Management (1 ETCS) and a tutorial on “The publication and reviewing process”.
A Supervisory Board meeting also took place during the workshop.
Summarizing, the workshop served to introduce the recruited ESRs to their peers and the consortium and acted as a starting point for networking and collaboration in the framework of the action.
